Whelp, it’s been quite a year, to say the least. We’re still dealing with the pandemic, there are new folks in the White House, and racial injustices and inequalities are still too common in our country. I’ve learned a lot about myself both as an individual and as a member of society and my community. A desire for change seems to be the consensus and I’ve made a few choices on how I plan to be a part of that. One way is by supporting black owned businesses and featuring them on here!
So, in celebration of my return to makeup artistry, I’m featuring a cosmetic company- Jaide Nicole Cosmetics! The brand launched this past November with their Love + Gloss collection. The collection features nude glosses named after iconic love songs retailing at $15. The buttery smooth formula applies like a dream and leaves a sheer, high-shine wash of color on the lips. And while I fully believe all shades will work for one person, there’s definitely representation for each lip undertone. There’s also a staple iridescent clear gloss for those that just want to up their shine .
I purchased Sweet Love (a warm hot chocolate color) and Love No Limit (a neutral toned beige). Since, I’m in a mask for most of my day, I mainly wear them by themselves. I really cannot rave enough about how smooth this formula is. There’s no stickiness whatsoever and the shine lasts for HOURS. As toppers, they add beautiful dimension and don’t disrupt the layer underneath like some other glosses do. Plus, once they have rubbed off, my lips are left feeling soft and hydrated– definitely the desired outcome during these cold NY months.
If you’re looking for an effortless gloss, you definitely won’t be disappointed with one of these bad boys! I myself plan on going back for the other two shades: Need Your Lovin’ (a soft baby pink) and Love Hangover (that clear, iridescent shade I mentioned earlier). They’ve also released a hydrating matte collection called Love x Matte. There are 6 shades and I have my sights set on Lady; I’m a sucker for a rusty brown!
Anywhooos, that’s it for now! Let me know if you try out any of their products! What’s your favorite finish? Are you a sucker for certain shades? Let me know in the comments below!
